| To date, geotagging - or the adding of geographical information such as latitude and longitude coordinates to images - has been performed using data garnered from GPS sources (American Global Positioning System). This can be either from the mobile phone's in-built GPS receiver (e.g. Nokia N95) or an external Bluetooth GPS module (e.g. Nokia Location Tagger). These of course assume that you have a GPS receiver one way or another, and doesn't take into account GPS info available on the location where the photo was taken or made available on the maps. It also does not take into account the other satellite navigation system - the Russian Global Navigation Satellite System GLONASS (Global'naya Navigatsionnaya Sputnikovaya Sistema). With Tea Vui Huang's GLONASS Geotagger on your Nokia mobile phone, you can now geotag your photos either manually or with GLONASS! GLONASS Geotagger accepts PZ-90 (Parametry Zemli 1990 Goda) coordinates and translates them internally into WGS84 (World Geodetic System 1984) coordinates. Thus ensuring your geotag photos are compatible with all popular geotag applications and photo-sharing websites. GLONASS Geotagger is designed for Nokia phones minimally supporting CLDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0 and JSR 75. It uses the PZ-90 - WGS84 transformation parameters of Misra, P. N., Abbot, R. I., and Gaposchkin, E. M. (1996a). Integrated Use of GPS and GLONASS: PZ-90 – WGS84 Transformation.
